New Make Up

I went to NYC last weekend and went in to Lord&Taylor to replenish my eyeliner and mascara. I was eligible for a few free gifts with my purchase. Check out what I got and a review of my favorite eyeliner and mascara. Have you used any of these products? What's your opinion on them? Would you recommend another product that is similar instead?

Lancome Hypnose Drama- Excess Black

This is the best mascara I've ever purchased. I've been wearing it for about 2 years now. My friend Marimar recommend it to me and I refuse wearing anything else. They also offer a waterproof version which I am NOT a fan of. It dries too quickly and it is difficult to reapply for a quick touch up.

The saleswoman totally up-sold me and convinced me to buy two tubes. If I spent $35, I received 6 free gifts (see everything else above).

Chanel Eyeliner #10 Ebene

When it comes to make-up, there are times to save and times to splurge. Chanel eyeliner is phenomenal and worth the splurge. It stays on until you remove it and it does not smudge. I purchased it in black this time, but I sometimes use a plum color for my daytime face.

District Sample Sale

Mona Assemi Necklace

I went to a sample sale on M street (which was packed with hundreds of 20-something-year-old-girls) and found this interesting necklace.

The necklace is made of brass and has a acid treatment that changes the metal's color and creates a pattern. The artist was in town from NYC and selling her pieces. She was really sweet and gave me a great deal.

I couldn't find any of her jewelry on sale online, but it looks like she has a website in progress. I'm excited to pair this with collared blouses and bright, solid tops. What do you think of the choker look? I've been more into shorter, chunkier pieces recently. What have you been wearing/loving?

Just Purchased

Just Purchased

I just snagged this J.Crew Blouse. I've been wanting a chambray shirt for the fall. The light material is great for layering during the weird transition of weather. This isn't technically chambray but the effect is what I was looking for. If you didn't know, chambray is a type of light weight fabric. J.Crew has a few cute pieces on sale right AND all sale items are 30% off with the promo code (SHOPNOW).

You're welcome.

Now Craving

JCrew "Boy shirt in stripe crepe de chine"

Now Craving

This picture does not do this silk blouse justice. I was in NYC this weekend and popped in the JCrew store and this blouse immediately caught my eye. I've had a difficult time finding a quality, stripe blouse that is not incredibly sheer. I can't seem to decide between the navy and the mustard. I am leaning towards the mustard since I've been wearing a lot of camel tones and neutrals lately. What do you think? Are you craving anything similar right now?

{Jumpsuit: 5/48 (via Saks OFF 5th- $20 find!)}{Hat: ASOS}{Belt: Cole Haan}{Heels: Alejandro Ingelmo "Sophia Pump"(via MyHabit)(other colors here) (similar here)}{Necklace: Mother's jewelry box}

Okay so I love a good jumpsuit. Not so much a fan of its sister, the romper (the proportions never work out for me). What I love about a jumpsuit is they can make you look  supermodel tall. In my dream world, I am teetering up to the land of 5'8. In reality, I am MAYBE 5'3. I fooled you, right? The all black, high-waisted effect works magic. Add a neutral pump and accentuate the waist line and you have added those beloved vertical inches.

Gossip Girl

Nail Color: "Barefoot In Barcelona" by OPI |

With the Season 5 premiere of Gossip Girl airing in less than two weeks, I was reminded of one of my favorite looks circa Season 1 or 2. Thanks for the inspiration, Waldorf designs.

Nail Polish
Also, I am obsessed with this nail color. It's called "Barefoot In Barcelona" by OPI. It's super sleek and professional, but not boring. I highly recommend it if you have a dark/olive complexion.

I am obsessed with DVF's Fall/Winter 2011 Collection. It is stunning. I definitely will be wearing a lot of pieces inspired by the color palet and structures in her collection this Autumn.

This look was inspired by a few pieces I saw on one of my frequent ShopBop browsing/wine sessions. Love Shopbop. I'll take one of everything, please!
