Four Seasons Costa Rica Review
I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful country of Costa Rica with my boyfriend earlier this month. For part of the trip, visited the Papagayo Peninsula located on the north Pacific cost of the country. The resort sits on both sides of the Peninsula and has two beautiful beaches: one on the ocean side, and the other on the Culebra Bay side. We stayed there for two nights and three days. I wanted to share with you guys images of the resort and some of the highlights.
Activities at the Resort
- Snorkeling: The highlight of snorkeling was definitely seeing a sea turtle! We swam around for about 90 minutes early in the morning so see the sea life.
- Beaches: On the ocean side, they have beautiful cabanas and beach side, there are beach activities like volleyball, kayaking, and jet skiing .
- Golf: The golf course is absolutely beautiful! I grew up on a golfing and have a decent swing, so I was excited to spend the afternoon on the golf course. Unfortunately, it rained after the first hole so we took our drinks to the 19th hole and ended up playing cards on our balcony while watching the sunset. We were accompanied by monkeys running around the palm trees outside of our room.
Pura Vida for All is the Four Season’s new wellness imitative Alec stopped by the Spa for a haircut during our stay. I did not use any of the services, but they offer a full menu.
There are four restaurants at the resort. My favorite meal was at the Tico’s lounge where we grabbed cocktails, sushi, and small bits late at night by the pool.
The Four Season’s staff was so attentive during our stay. We made friends with our poolside server for the weekend. It’s nice to be around such friendly and kind people.
Flights from DC to Costa Rica
Costa Rica was very easy to get to from DC. The total travel time is about 8 hours, so it’s a great trip if you need a change of scenery during a long weekend and have a day or two of vacation time to spare. I’d recommend staying for at least five days like we did. We flew out of DCA and flew United Airlines through Houston. On the return flight, we flew American Airlines through Miami.

This is outside of Tico’s Lounge. We enjoyed Sushi and Drinks by the Pool.
We ordered a pitcher of Sangria, beach-side. Too good!
Alec golfing before the lighting storm!
Be sure to check out the CR Burger Shack next to the golf course. So good.
