Wear something cute: For me, if I’m wearing sweats and look a hot mess, it’s hard to feel like I’m strong and capable of crushing my workout. Simply tossing on a pair of sneakers can improve my energy level. I love layering on pieces when I exercise. Everyone should have a great fitness wardrobe! Grabbing a few staple tees and leggings can add variety to your fitness looks. I am wearing two tees, a white and a navy, and both are very different looks. What I love about these pieces is I can also style them for other occasions and they are not just limited to one activity (more to come on that)! I’ll show you other ways to style these pieces this week.
Run to the Music: I currently can’t stop listening to Taylor Swift’s 1989 and anything Ariana Grande. You can structure your workout by running to a song (bonus points for Justin Timberlake songs that are 7+ minutes), and then walking a song. Repeat that process as many times as you can. If you can’t run a full song, try running to just the chorus and walking during the verses. If you don’t like music, you can try running a block and then walking a block. The key is to keep your heart rate up!
Soak it all in: Obviously, DC has pretty scenic views to absorb during your run, but where ever you may be, while you are outdoors, try to look up and pay attention to your surroundings. It improves your ability to pay attention to the details and teaches you to be observant, both extremely important qualities to have in all areas of your life.
Grab a fitness roller: I am literally obsessed with fitness rollers. I use them before and after I workout and it feels amazing on sore muscles. Let me know if you’d like me to do a post on my fitness roller moves.
Big thanks to Cuddl Duds for partnering with me on this post! I love them and hope you do, too.
